Customers: Evil is thy name!

Customer service. Ah to see it or hear it, brings forth either good memories or bad memories for the customer. But what about the service rep who has a bad experience with a customer? No one ever wants to talk about the service rep’s bad experience, oh no they do not.

Well I wrote a sarcastic funny blog post (part 1 and part 2) on how a person should act towards their customer service rep. But just last week I realized that people are selfish and bitter with themselves and treating others in a horrible fashion is their way to feel good.

I am very good at my job. Too good and I am not bragging, but it makes it hard for me to move on into a different position. To make extra money I will also be the emergency on-call person. Basically I have a computer and a phone and at a moments notice I can receive any kind of emergency call at any time. Example would be a flood or leak or something water related.

Well on last week I had a call from a couple of horrible people who were nasty and evil. It was in regards to no hot water. They still had water. Just not hot water. I’m going to tell you right now I have never, ever been as angry as I was when I spoke to these people who just went off on me for basically doing my job, the same way I always do my job on a call such as these. I spoke to the wife who proceeded to tell me in a very condescending way how to do my job. Then in the background her husband was calling me an idiot and he was gleefully shouting how he was going to get me fired.

Now what kills me is that I totally had their information in front of me. What if I was like those people who lose it? Or I was crazy? Though sometimes I think I must be to stay in this business of servicing customers!

All joking aside it ended up being a horrible experience for me, as these people eventually got their hot water turned back on, but it was only off no more than thirty minutes to an hour yet they took it to the next level of stupidness. The thing is, that experience is with me and will stay with me as my truly horrible experience of a customer.

What about you? You ever had that crazy person who got all crazy for basically nothing? I surely want to know! Thanks!

President Obama vs the Tea Party Gang: Who really has our best interest at heart?

FYI- Sorry this post is a bit long, and it is a rant, so I thank you in advance for reading!

Last night I had my eyes opened up further to the extreme stupidity of some Americans. It is about a movement, a Tea Party Movement that “seems” to be gaining in popularity and people opposing the Obama Administrations Health Care Plan, any increase in taxes, and the POTUS himself. Apparently it is a 2009 thing, because I don’t recall seeing this movement in the past 8 years. Hmm.

What prompted this post?

Well this Tea Party Movement is going on a 38 city tour in the U. S. of A. and they started in San Diego yesterday per the news story here. I looked on in dismay as the people held signs up that were not friendly or nice, but geared to act as hate-filled mini billboards to showcase their “growing” horror at the Obama Administration Healthcare reform. Or anything the administration tries to deal with.

Case in point, a little 10 year old girl being interviewed said “People who aren't having jobs are just sitting there and they're giving the people who are sitting the money, and the people who are working aren't getting anything." Wow. I was in awe of the fact that she could not quite get out the rhetoric yet there she was with her sign that said “I don’t need a savior, I need a president.” Parents please, stop putting your ideas and agendas on your kids! She is 10, she should be in a park playing, being carefree, not out and about protesting things, I am quite sure she does not fully understand!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but when did it mean that uninsured Americans translated into unemployed Americans? I had a job once that just could not afford to provide healthcare to its employees, so point blank I was uninsured. And the whole “it’s my money, why do I have to pay for others?” phrase is getting real old. Hmm isn’t that what taxes are for? Or did people just recently realize that is what taxes were for? Hmm makes me wonder who is getting played here.

Then I heard a term that one of the people heading the tour, a Deborah Jones, Tea-Party Express Vice Chairman, said that the “Democrats calls us astroturfers and we are not.” At this point I had to rewind my DVR because that was the first time I ever heard this word used in such a fashion as I am not even a casual observer of politics.

So here is a definition: “Campaigns & Elections magazine defines astroturf as a ‘grassroots program that involves the instant manufacturing of public support for a point of view in which either uninformed activists are recruited or means of deception are used to recruit them."(Astroturf)

From my observation alone, I can agree with the whole “uninformed activist” part as the people they interviewed seemed ass-backwards in their response as to why they are part of the movement. How does the average citizen allow themselves to get caught up in the frenzy of this mess? Apparently with “unbiased” claims such as these:

- telling old people that the president plans to kill them

- telling people they won’t be able to choose their doctors

- telling people that a universal system would encourage terrorist attacks

- telling people that a universal system would make this country a communist nation (---> FYI- I saw this info in the comments of this blog here)

When I looked at the news program, I will admit it seemed to be either the elderly or the very young at the rallies who were speaking out on these issues and these were some of the things that they were spouting out as well as what was on their signs they were holding up.

From what I understand is that people do not want government to run healthcare, but aren’t they already running a portion of it? I think it is called Medicaid and Medicare, but maybe I’m wrong. Or maybe these people are just selfish and only want healthcare for some and not all. I know if I lose my job, my healthcare options are COBRA or nothing. As it stands now, I don’t qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, so I’d be S.O.L.

So my question is this: Am I not seeing the big picture? Or am I not the group this is intended for? Or maybe the world (Americans) has gone crazy and I haven’t had a sip of the coo-coo juice yet. Because I read the Healthcare Plan that Obama is proposing and the one thing that jumps out to me? That no matter what, I will still have healthcare. Is that wrong?

Please Put On Shorts For The Love Of GOD!

After picking my oldest up from college, he requested to go to little Caesar's for $5 pizza. Since he was paying for his own dinner I had no problem.

Well as we were leaving the parking lot, this female stepped out of her truck in a t-shirt tied in the back, and a bathing suit, with sandals. She had no shorts on what so effin ever!!!!!

Literally almost crashed car as I was backing out. My poor son almost passed out from the overall gross factor.

While I understand she was in a bathing suit, there was no water around for miles! A towel, sarong, or shorts would have just been respect overall. The back of her thighs had so many dimples you could connect the dots.

Now while this is California, with many a pool, and many beaches, that is a sight that was just not right and will forever be etched into my cranium.

Don't get me wrong, I am no spring chicken, but at the same time, if you're out and about shopping, sorry but that is just not acceptable!

Link Referral...A Rant...Kind of

I've been on link referral and for the most part I love the extra traffic I'm getting as well as the reviews received. But this last review I got literally has me questioning people in general.

Ok I am pretty clear in what my blog is about. I literally talk about stuff that I come across in my life.

So this last review I got states and I quote:
"It has some interesting posts, like the ones about Vampires, and True Blood (I love this show).. but I think it's not very easy to read, the ideas are a bit mixed... could be clearer! :) It's good but could be improved!."

Ok I am not a crybaby boo hooing over this review, but come on! It clearly states what my blog is about. This post is called a rant. =D I just had to comment because while not mad, this is the ish that kills me!

Now I am one for taking comments and working to improve, as I know I can not make every single person happy, I get that, but when I see a person who clearly does not understand that it is mixed for a reason, well poop on a stick I just had to get my 2 cents out.

I even changed my template around to something I feel is more me, and will allow people to see better on a white background
.

This leads me to believe that I am probably one of the few who actually look at a blog/website and understand, even if it is not my cup of tea, I at least try to get what they are about which 9 out of 10 times, is clear as AIR!

Ok this rant is over. lol I will go on to lighter, more mixed items later.

Car Rage

I’m telling you, people in cars are evil. lol I’m in the 7-eleven parking lot near my home where I was attempting to get out of a parking space when this she-witch rolls in almost hitting my car (not really but it sounds so dramatic. Actually she and I moved at the same time). I stopped, she stopped. I finally pulled out, and this she-witch proceeds to give me the eye like it was my fault I chose that time to leave. Well I gave her the eye back and was ready to get out of the car and give her another eyeful.

That is when I realized that people, me included, think that we are straight bad-asses when we are driving. I see it all the time as well as experience it myself. Driving a car makes people reckless and sometimes fearless. I’ve had many instances where I’ve gone from 0-60 in the rage dept while driving and then afterwards I always think the same thing, what if that idiot I was mad at or cursing out had a gun?

I actually saw an incident on the freeway where two people were going at it in their cars like two knights in metal horses during a jousting competition. Well the cars stopped on the side of the road. The first car had one guy in it ready to get all bad, when the second car door opened up and out spilled four young guys and one guy had a bat. The guy in the first car saw that and took the hell off. This is why people in cars must be careful because no one knows just how crazy the other person is.

I will say this. I will try, but the next time someone cuts in front of me, I will probably get heated. What I should be doing is thinking of the other person and how I’d like to write what I’d like to do to them. That might help with my road rage. And make me a safer driver. And a better writer. Just saying.

Miley Cyrus does not a Fairy Wings make

Sometimes, I have to voice my opinion. It just can’t be helped.

I just read this phenomenal book a couple of weeks ago, called Wings, by Aprilynne Pike about a 15 year old girl who is actually a fairy. This is a very simple premise, but yet a very powerful story, because the author put her spin on the tale of fairy and I loved it!

And then this morning I heard the most horrendous news possible! Apparently Disney has decided to snatch up the rights to this soon to be a 4 book series with intention of casting Miley Cyrus as the main character. Are you for real Disney???!!

That book moved me, and this is maybe why I am taking it personal, but Miley Cyrus is no fairy like creature. Sorry, but the girl in the book in the book is a blonde, ethereal, and looks fairy-like. And let’s be honest, just because Miley is Disney’s golden ticket, does not mean she is even remotely perfect for the part. Nothing against the young star, but really?

Now as far as looking at a possible candidate, I can see Dakota Fanning. She has the blonde hair, the delicate features and the most important part, she looks like a 15 year old, whereas Miley looks like she is in her 20’s. I’d even prefer an unknown actress who has the look. Granted Miley can dye her hair, but she still does not have the “look”.

Seriously Disney, please don’t kill the franchise without looking at other options when it comes to casting. Seriously!

Ok that is my rant for the day!

My tiny rant

I tell you, writing is solitary business. I find myself wanting to write more each day, yet my job intrudes. I need it, but I want to write full time. And make money at it.

My only thing is that I thought I'd seriously would be writing novels not reviews or articles, yet I am happy with the results. Now if only I can stop procrastination and JDI (just do it!)

I'll keep plugging away. I have to. I don't want to lose the momentum I've created for myself. Maybe being a reviewer is the way in.
